Dear Norwalk High School Faculty, Parent Groups, and Extra-Curricular Advisors,
The Norwalk High School Fathers Club welcomes you to the 09/10 school year! The Fathers Club is a parent service organization made up of mothers, fathers, and guardians of NHS students, and a dedicated group of alumni parents. The Fathers Club is Norwalk High School's oldest parent group. For over 60 years we have been raising money to fund scores of underfunded, non-budgeted school activities and items, including the annual spring musical, college scholarships for graduating seniors, extracurricular activities, and classroom supplies.
We are the only parent group at NHS that raises money without any special interests. For example, we purchased a digital camera and printer for the social studies department, a laptop computer and multi-media projector and cart for the art department, and a document viewer for the library. We also funded bus costs for the poetry contest, purchased new speakers for the auditorium, and helped fund the purchase of new uniforms for the sports teams.
To raise money, the Fathers Club sells refreshments at home football games in the fall, at basketball games in the winter, and at the school play in the spring. Working with the music department, the Fathers Club volunteers also sell tickets, assemble the ad journal, place advertising, and work as ushers for the spring musical.
